Using the basic farmhouse white dough I knead in a very generous amount of fresh garlic into each baguette along with a pinch of herbs. I then allow each baguette to rise before I score the lines to help slicing.

As this bread already contains all the garlic and herbs you will need you simply need to partially cut and add butter before re-heating. Alternatively you can fully cut each slice and shallow fry in butter, very naughty but a real treat! This is great with dishes like spaghetti bolognaise and lasagne.
